What have I been doing?I always knew working on a comic would be difficult, but actually working on a comic is extremely painful. As an artist, I always know why comic artists I follow would apologize for not responding. Working on a comic takes time and you simply don’t have time to do anything else if you have a deadline reach. I will admit, I haven’t been working on my project as much as I hoped to, when you have other classes and a job demanding your attention you simply don't have time to pull out your 12-inch drawing tablet which is connected to your HP laptop out of nowhere and start drawing. Not to mention how agonizing creating a script is, people take years or months to create a script for upcoming comics/projects, I had mine done in 9-weeks. This project has been stressful, but I haven’t simply sat down and done nothing. How is the story going?I have changed a few things about the story, I made it a bit shorter for me to be able to finish it quicker. My goal is that I will be able to finish the sketches and a few line art panels by the end, although I do plan to work on finishing it over the summer in hopes of being able to give Mr. Barker a physical copy of my comic for his library. Recently I have working to finish the sketches of the comic book while making sure the shortened version of my story makes sense. HAve i reached my goals?Although I haven’t reached the goals I had prepared for myself, I still believe I put in as much as I could considering my situation. I am not sure if I will be able to finish the line art of the comic but I will make sure to upload the cleaned-up sketches on the websites for future classes to view.

When I was creating the cover art of my comic, I wanted it to feel like it held all the elements I wanted the reader to see. We see the villains ribbons at the top, but it only shows us the hostile weapon and not anything about them. When we look at the center, we see Rino, our main charcters father, blocking the ribbons from getting to Grey (our main charcater). But everthimg in the background is diluted by a dark filter, making our main character stand out. This is the process of thought I had when creating the cover art, although I will not say more because I wish not to spoil anything. :) My goal is to finish my script by the end of March. Although it has spelling and grammar errors I am not worried because its a comic not a book. Heres a sneek peak of one of the scences I have written, I am very excited to draw this panel.
The Eye of Ura is comic that I am creating for genius hour. When you are a person without many hobbies outside of drawing, you start to world build and created stories for characters you create. This is a comic that I have been planning to create for a long time, but now I have been given the time and motivation to create it. This comic will explore the lengths of family, as well as the introductions of my characters. These charcters have been created with research of mythology and regular animals. |
